CornerStone Professional Placement is seeking a VP of Real Estate Insurance Risk for an exciting leadership opportunity with a prominent organization in Dallas, TX. This role is pivotal in shaping the company’s real estate insurance risk framework and driving strategic decisions related to policy, coverage, and claims. The selected individual will lead all risk transfer initiatives and serve as a primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external insurance providers.
* Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive insurance strategy focused on real estate risk exposures, ensuring alignment with the company’s asset portfolio and growth plans.
* Manage and streamline the insurance claims process, from incident reporting through resolution, ensuring accurate documentation and minimal business disruption.
* Partner with insurance brokers to evaluate and negotiate policy renewals, assess coverage options, and manage premium cost-effectiveness.
* Analyze trends in real estate, legal, and regulatory environments to proactively identify risk areas and recommend insurance solutions.
* Collaborate with internal departments (Legal, Finance, Development) to review contracts and ensure appropriate risk allocation and compliance with insurance requirements.
* Build and deliver executive reports and presentations that outline risk metrics, claim activity, and insurance program performance.
* Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, contributing to company-wide decision-making related to insurance and risk mitigation.
* Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
* Minimum of 10 years’ experience in corporate insurance or risk management, with a strong emphasis on real estate exposure.
* Proven ability to structure and manage complex insurance portfolios, including property, casualty, and executive liability.
* Demonstrated expertise in managing broker relationships and navigating carrier negotiations.
* Ability to interpret legal and contractual language as it pertains to insurance and indemnity provisions.
* Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; capable of engaging with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
* Professional certifications such as ARM (Associate in Risk Management) or MLIS (Management Liability Insurance Specialist) are highly desirable.
* Employment Type: Direct Hire
* Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday
* Location: On-site in Dallas, TX
* Salary: $115-135K plus discretionary bonus
