Senior Accountant – Construction

Location: 100% Onsite in Lewisville, TX

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay Range: $90K+ BOE

Duration: Direct Hire

CornerStone Professional Placement has partnered with a leading construction company to seek a skilled Senior Accountant with strong Excel skills, recent and relevant construction accounting experience, and expertise in job costing, general ledger, month-end close, and reconciliations. Sage experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Assist with budgeting, variance analysis, and recommendations for improvements.
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
• Perform account reconciliations and maintain internal controls.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and addressing inquiries.
• Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and performance improvements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CCIFP preferred.
• 7–10 years of accounting experience, including recent and relevant construction accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with construction accounting software (Sage preferred).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, job costing, and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
