Location: Lewisville, TX (Onsite)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Compensation: $95K+ BOE

Duration: Full-Time | Direct Hire

Position Overview

The Senior Project Accountant will oversee project-level financials, ensuring accurate billing, job cost tracking, and compliance with accounting standards. This position requires collaboration with project managers, attention to detail, and a strong ability to identify and implement process improvements.


Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly customer billing process and communicate with clients regarding payment requirements.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue balances.
  • Support project managers in establishing and maintaining project budgets.
  • Process subcontractor payments accurately and on schedule.
  • Collect and track compliance documentation.
  • Reconcile project costs and ensure accuracy in reporting.
  • Participate in the job close-out process.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring GAAP and internal control compliance.
  • Drive process improvements and ERP system enhancements.
  • Contribute to general accounting functions, including:
    • Monthly, quarterly, and annual G/L account reconciliations.
    • Month-end and year-end close processes.
    • Preparation of monthly financial reports and analyses.
    • Review of account and bank reconciliations.
    • Development and implementation of financial controls and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project accounting experience in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of project invoicing, job cost accounting, WIP reporting, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented.
  • Proven track record of identifying and executing process improvements.
