CornerStone Professional Placement is seeking a Senior Loan Closer/Funder for a leading fintech company specializing in technology-driven mortgage lending. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mortgage professional to play a key role in closing and funding operations while helping scale and enhance the processes and technology that support the mortgage lifecycle. The Senior Loan Closer will oversee complex residential mortgage closings from final document preparation through funding and post-closing, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and a seamless borrower experience. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert for closing, funding, investor requirements, and post-closing activities while partnering closely with internal teams, title and escrow partners, vendors, and technology teams.

Work Arrangement: Fully Remote
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $84,000–$105,000/yr DOE, plus equity and bonus
Responsibilities:
• Manage the end-to-end mortgage closing and funding process, including final document preparation, Closing Disclosures (CDs), fee reconciliation, escrow instructions, wire requests, funding authorization, and complex disbursements.
• Ensure loan documentation and funding activities comply with TRID, federal and state regulations, internal controls, and investor guidelines, serving as the final operational checkpoint before funding.
• Oversee post-closing and investor delivery activities, including investor conditions, trailing documents, purchase suspense resolution, QC findings, and warehouse line funding requirements to support loan salability.
• Coordinate with borrowers, title and escrow partners, processing, origination, compliance, legal, and post-closing teams while managing escalations and maintaining a high-volume pipeline against critical deadlines.
• Partner with engineering, vendors, and implementation teams on closing and funding system enhancements, including requirements definition, configuration validation, UAT, issue resolution, and continuous process improvement.
Requirements:
• 4+ years of mortgage loan closing and funding experience in a Senior or Team Lead capacity, with hands-on post-closing experience including investor conditions, trailing documents, and purchase suspense resolution.
• Advanced knowledge of TRID, federal and state mortgage regulations, investor delivery/purchase requirements, and warehouse line funding workflows.
• Hands-on experience preparing wire orders, conducting funding authorization reviews, and managing complex residential mortgage closings and disbursements.
• Proficiency with LOS systems, document preparation and closing platforms, and reading/interpreting XML and MISMO files; broker or correspondent lending experience is a plus.
• Proven experience training and mentoring others, managing high-volume workloads, and collaborating effectively with internal teams, engineering, implementation partners, and vendors.
