CornerStone Professional Placement is seeking a Senior Accountant for a global pharmaceutical company based in Fort Worth, Texas. This Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting core accounting activities and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in financial reporting, balance sheet accounting, month-end close, Accounts Payable, NetSuite, IFRS, and U.S. GAAP, preferably within a complex multinational or public company environment.
Position: Senior Accountant
Location: Fort Worth, TX – Hybrid (3 days on-site)
Pay Rate: $40–$50/hour
Employment: 6-Month Temporary Assignment with Potential for Extension
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Candidates are required to work three days on-site each week, with at least one of those days being Monday or Friday.
Responsibilities for the Senior Accountant:
- Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, account analyses, and supporting documentation to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data in accordance with IFRS, U.S. GAAP, and applicable accounting requirements; analyze account fluctuations, investigate discrepancies and root causes, and determine appropriate accounting treatment.
- Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable in NetSuite, including payment processing, supporting documentation, vendor banking information, and vendor onboarding activities.
- Ensure cash activity and high-volume deposit journal entries are accurately recorded and reconciled in NetSuite, while partnering with accounting, finance, and cross-functional teams to support timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Support balance sheet reviews, finance projects, system enhancements, process improvements, and accounting policy implementations, identifying opportunities to strengthen accounting processes and support U.S. operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, with a minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within pharmaceutical, healthcare, consumer goods, or a complex multinational/public company environment; CPA or Master’s degree is a plus.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and U.S. GAAP, with experience researching and applying accounting guidance to moderately complex transactions; experience working in a medical or healthcare environment and communicating with doctors’ offices is highly preferred.
- Hands-on NetSuite experience and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including creating PivotTables and VLOOKUPs; experience within a shared services accounting environment is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of financial close, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, Accounts Payable, and financial reporting, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurate work under tight deadlines.
- Proven ability to identify process gaps and implement practical, scalable improvements, with strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions.
