Payroll Tax Specialist – Dallas, TX 75244

100% Onsite | 5–6 Month Contract Assignment (Potential to Extend)

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Tax Specialist to join the payroll team on a temporary contract basis. This role will play a critical part in supporting payroll operations by handling multi-state payroll tax processes, Dayforce system functions, and ensuring compliance with state and local tax regulations.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, 8am-5:30pm
• Onsite in Dallas, TX 75244
• May require occasional paid overtime depending on payroll cycles

Pay Rate

• $35/hr.+ BOE

Duration

• 5–6 month contract assignment
• Potential to extend based on business needs

Responsibilities

• Complete data entry of payroll tax inquiries
• Coordinate and communicate with payroll manager on payroll tax registrations
• Create and maintain payroll-related reports
• Participate in payroll preparation to ensure tax liabilities are correct and properly registered with jurisdictions
• Research and resolve payroll tax inquiries, working with external tax services as needed
• Support compliance with multi-state payroll tax regulations
• Perform other payroll-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll tax and multi-state payroll processes
• Proficient in Dayforce (required)
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• High attention to detail with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
