Construction Payroll Specialist

Location: Denton, TX

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Duration: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Pay Range: $35/hr.+ BOE ($72K+)

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage weekly and biweekly payroll processing for both hourly and salaried employees. The ideal candidate will be Spanish bilingual and have a construction background with strong organizational skills, a high level of accuracy, and experience maintaining payroll records in compliance with company policies and applicable labor laws.

Responsibilities:

• Process weekly and biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
• Review and verify timesheets, hours worked, and pay rates for accuracy.
• Maintain accurate employee records including new hires, terminations, and pay changes.
• Handle payroll adjustments such as bonuses, deductions, and retroactive pay.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay and time reporting.
• Collaborate with HR and Accounting to ensure payroll data accuracy and timely processing.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll information.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of payroll processing experience required from construction environments.
• Must be Spanish bilingual.
• Union experience and Certified Payroll experience heavily preferred.
• Proficiency in ERP software is a big plus!
• Strong understanding of wage and hour laws.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
• Intermediate Excel skills required.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
