Field Repair Technician
Location: Richardson, Texas| Onsite (70% Domestic Travel Required, No weekends!)
Compensation & Schedule
• $63,000-$68,000 BOE

Role Impact
The Field Repair Technician ensures laser radar (LiDAR – Light Detection and Ranging) and radar-based speed detection systems operate accurately and reliably for customers. This role directly supports product performance, customer satisfaction, and field uptime. Success is defined by precise diagnostics, high-quality repairs, professional customer interaction, and dependable field service support.
• Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, calibration, and repair of LiDAR and radar-based speed detection equipment, including roadside speed display signs and handheld or vehicle-mounted laser radar devices
• Conduct onsite and offsite service visits, installations, and field repairs; travel domestically as needed, including occasional overnight trips
• Present professionally to customers; communicate technical findings clearly in person and in writing
• Document service activities, repair actions, and customer interactions accurately and thoroughly
• Support internal technical teams with feedback on recurring field issues and product performance
• Experience working with LiDAR, radar systems, or related electronic diagnostic equipment
• Ability to travel domestically as required, including renting vehicles, driving long distances, and flying as essential job functions
• Strong customer-facing communication skills with a professional demeanor and solid written documentation ability
Equipment & Work Environment
• Electronic diagnostic tools, calibration equipment, and precision measurement devices
• Field service vehicle travel, including extended driving and occasional air travel
• Combination of workshop repair environment and outdoor roadside or customer site conditions
• Computer-based reporting and service documentation systems
Preferred Skills
• Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or related field
• Experience with field service repair in law enforcement, traffic systems, or similar industries
• Familiarity with troubleshooting circuit boards, sensors, and embedded electronic systems
