Insurance Director

Location: Los Angeles, CA 90069

Schedule: Full-time, 100% Onsite

Pay Range: $120K - $150K BOE

Duration: Permanent! Be a full-time employee from day one!

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Director to lead all aspects of client insurance administration. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in risk assessment, policy analysis, and broker engagement. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing complex client needs in a fast-paced, highly confidential environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients, brokers, and carriers for all insurance-related matters.
  • Conduct and maintain thorough risk assessments for a diverse client portfolio.
  • Review, manage, and renew insurance applications and policies, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Recommend policy updates or adjustments to optimize coverage and compliance.
  • Lead insurance-related projects, ensuring timely execution and communication.
  • Organize and maintain detailed client files, including applications, policies, renewals, and supporting documents.
  • Prepare and deliver internal and external insurance summaries and presentations.
  • Oversee the annual audit process for all client insurance holdings.
  • Coordinate onsite property evaluations with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Conduct periodic reviews to identify coverage gaps or required changes due to risk profile shifts.
  • Identify documentation discrepancies that may affect underwriting and resolve them with brokers.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding of client accounts with respect to insurance transitions.
  • Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to team members on insurance operations.
  • Facilitate internal staff training on insurance deliverables and best practices.
  • Collaborate with accounting and client service teams to align strategies and workflows.
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best-in-class insurance practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in insurance, risk analysis, or financial services.
  • Experience working with brokers, underwriters, and policy documentation is required.
  • Prior exposure to high-net-worth or multi-entity client environments preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor team members effectively.
  • Proficient in using internal systems to manage documents and maintain compliance.
