Location: Fort Worth, TX
Hybrid Schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote (after training)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, standard business hours

Compensation: $60,000 – $75,000

An established retail design firm is seeking a production-focused CX Design Support professional to strengthen its technical design team. This position plays a critical behind-the-scenes role in shaping store layouts, refining documentation, and ensuring projects move forward with precision.

This is not a lead designer role. It is ideal for someone who enjoys structured workflows, thrives in production environments, and takes satisfaction in being the reliable backbone of high-quality deliverables.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Design Production
  • Assist in developing final design intent drawings using AutoCAD (plans, elevations, sections, details)
  • Create and update SketchUp models for design studies and internal presentations
  • Develop schematic layouts and design studies under direction of lead designers
  • Prepare and organize design documentation using established templates and standards
  • Review drawings for accuracy, consistency, and constructability

Documentation & Organization
  • Maintain clean, disciplined project files across multiple active projects
  • Support production schedules and internal deadlines
  • Assist with redlines, revisions, and quality control reviews
  • Ensure drawing sets align with commercial documentation standards
  • Support asset libraries and internal design systems

Experience and Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or related field
  • 1–3 years of architectural production experience (commercial or retail preferred)
  • Experience supporting multiple projects in a deadline-driven setting

Required Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)
  • Proficient in SketchUp for modeling and design support (required)
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction documents
  • Working knowledge of building codes, zoning, and accessibility requirements
  • High attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills and structured workflow habits
  • Ability to take direction, incorporate revisions, and collaborate within a team
  • Comfortable in a support-focused role rather than a lead position

Preferred Experience
  • Retail, convenience store, or QSR design exposure
  • Prototype-based or multi-site rollout experience
  • Familiarity with site layouts, canopies, or equipment coordination
  • Exposure to jurisdictional submittals and comment responses
