Salary: $80,000–$100,000, based on experience

CornerStone Professional Placement is seeking an experienced Customer Service Manager for a growing organization in the Houston, TX area. This newly created leadership position offers the opportunity to take ownership of a Customer Service function, develop a team, improve processes, and help support continued business growth.

This is not a traditional retail or call-center Customer Service role. The ideal candidate brings experience supporting customers in a technical or industrial B2B environment and combines strong Customer Service leadership with a commercial, sales-minded approach.
What You’ll Do
  • Lead the day-to-day Customer Service operation and manage a small team.
  • Develop, document, and implement SOPs, processes, and procedures.
  • Improve consistency across quoting, order management, product information, and customer communication.
  • Help establish KPIs, performance expectations, and visibility into team performance.
  • Coach, train, and develop employees while identifying individual strengths and development opportunities.
  • Support technically complex B2B customer orders and coordinate with multiple internal departments.
  • Help develop a more structured approach to customer and account ownership.
  • Confidently navigate customer pricing, discount, and service conversations while protecting business relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the customer experience and support additional business growth.
  • Partner with senior leadership to identify operational issues and recommend improvements.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of progressive Customer Service and/or Sales experience in a technical or industrial B2B environment, with demonstrated leadership and team-development experience.
  • Experience developing or improving SOPs, processes, and procedures.
  • Experience establishing or managing KPIs and performance expectations.
  • Strong customer-facing communication, problem-solving, and relationship-management skills.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to balance Customer Service with sales and business objectives.
  • Ability to learn and work with technical products, complex orders, and detailed customer requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to succeed in an evolving, growth-oriented environment.
  • ERP and/or CRM experience.
  • Experience within petroleum, laboratory/scientific, chemical, energy, manufacturing, or another technical industrial environment is highly desirable.
  • International customer or order-management experience is a plus.
  • Technical degree, such as Chemistry or a related discipline, is a plus but not required.
