Central Plant Operating Engineer
Dallas, TX (Downtown)

If you’re an experienced engineer who knows how to keep large-scale building systems running smoothly—and can spot issues before they become problems—this is a great opportunity to step into a high-impact role supporting a Class A commercial property.

CornerStone Professional Placement is hiring a Central Plant Operating Engineer to support a large, high-profile building environment. This role is heavily focused on central plant operations and is ideal for someone who enjoys working with complex equipment, staying active throughout the day, and being part of a collaborative engineering team.

What You’ll Be Doing:
• Operate and support central plant systems (chillers, pumps, cooling towers, chilled water systems)
• Monitor and adjust systems through BAS to maintain optimal performance
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections across base building equipment
• Identify equipment issues through observation, sound, and performance—and escalate as needed
• Support plant operations as part of a team during the week and independently on weekends
• Respond to occasional tenant needs with professionalism and strong communication

What You Bring:
• Experience in Class A commercial buildings or comparable large-scale facilities
• Strong exposure to central plant operations, including large-tonnage chiller systems and sequencing
• Experience working in buildings 1M+ sq. ft. (larger campus environments preferred)
• Working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS)
• Preventative maintenance and equipment troubleshooting experience
• Chilled water system experience (required)
• Ability to work independently, especially in a solo engineer environment
• Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset

Nice to Have:
• Exposure to thermal storage systems

Why This Role Stands Out:
• Work on complex, large-scale systems (multi-chiller plant ~4,000 tons)
• Mix of team collaboration and independent responsibility
• Active, hands-on environment (not a desk job)
• Stable, long-term opportunity with a respected organization

Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay: $28–35/hr (DOE)
Location: Downtown Dallas (on-site)
