CornerStone Professional Placement has partnered with a PE-backed startup in the financial services space to recruit an experienced Accounting Manager.


This role offers the opportunity to lead accounting operations for small to mid-sized clients, manage offshore delivery teams, and ensure compliance with US GAAP. The ideal candidate will bring 7-10 years of experience, strong leadership skills, and a CPA license. This is a high-impact role with direct visibility to executive leadership in a fast-growing, dynamic environment.


Title: Accounting Manager

Location: Somerset, NJ

Schedule: M-F, 8am-5pm

Pay Range: $90K-$120K BOE

Duration: Full-Time, Direct Hire


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license strongly preferred

Skills & Experience

  • 7-10 years of experience managing accounting operations for small to mid-sized businesses
  • Proven experience working with offshore delivery teams to manage client work
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and audit standards
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and grow accounting teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a keen eye for identifying and resolving discrepancies
  • Proficiency in accounting and audit software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, CaseWare, etc.) (Lacerte is highly preferred)

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the preparation of financial statements, reconciliations, and related reporting by both onshore and offshore teams, ensuring compliance with US GAAP
  • Lead audits, reviews, and compilation assignments with full adherence to professional standards and deadlines
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients-providing technical accounting support and ensuring accurate, timely deliverables
  • Analyze financial reports to identify trends, irregularities, and areas for process or operational improvement
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support tax preparation and filings, including compliance documentation
  • Actively participate in business development efforts by contributing to client acquisition and retention strategies
