RF Front End Design Engineer
Job Description
RF Front End Design Engineer
Location: Santa Clara, CA or Frisco, TX (100% on-site)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RF Front End Design Engineer to take charge of designing and developing the RF front-end components for cutting-edge millimeter wave technology. This role will involve the complete journey from initial design and schematic creation to the manufacturing phase, ensuring seamless integration with the PCB's back end. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing PCBAs, specifying Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs), and implementing high-frequency PCB designs. If you are a forward-thinking engineer with a profound understanding of microwave circuits, RF PCB design, and simulation software, we invite you to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and schematic development process for the RF front end, covering millimeter wave technology.
- Develop detailed specifications for the RF components, including LNAs and other essential microwave components.
- Utilize RF lab equipment, such as Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs), power meters, spectrum analyzers, and vector signal generators, for comprehensive testing and analysis.
- Employ RF and electromagnetic (EM) simulation software to design and assess RF/microwave circuits.
- Design and layout RF Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) for high-frequency applications, ensuring efficient integration of microwave components.
- Engage in board level design, with a focus on frequencies exceeding 20GHz, for optimized performance.
Requirements:
- Education: A minimum of a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field.
- Experience: Extensive experience in microwave circuit design, including transmission lines, power amplifiers, Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs), mixers, couplers, filters, and other relevant microwave components.
- RF Lab Equipment: Proficiency with RF lab equipment, including Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs), power meters, spectrum analyzers, and vector signal generators.
- RF and EM Simulation Software: Proficiency in RF and electromagnetic (EM) simulation software for RF/microwave circuit design and analysis.
- RF PCBA Design and Layout: Deep expertise in RF Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) design and layout for microwave components.
- Board Level Design: Experience in board level design at frequencies exceeding 20GHz.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: A Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field is preferred but not mandatory.
- In-Depth Knowledge of Radio Architectures: Understanding of radio architectures is a preferred qualification, providing context for microwave component usage within broader systems.
If you possess the necessary qualifications and are ready to contribute to groundbreaking millimeter wave technology, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity. Join us in shaping the future of RF front-end design and integration.
