MAC/PHY Design Engineer
Location: Frisco, TX or Santa Clara, CA (100% On-site)
We are seeking a highly skilled MAC/PHY Design Engineer to join our dynamic team working on cutting-edge wireless communication products for telecom infrastructure. In this role, you will be at the forefront of wireless technology, contributing to the development, optimization, and deployment of MAC and PHY layers for our products on telecom poles.
- Deep Understanding of WiFi Protocols: We require individuals who possess a comprehensive understanding of WiFi protocols and the WiFi stack, with a specialization in the WiFi MAC layer. Your expertise in these areas will be essential for the success of our projects.
- Embedded Linux and Embedded C: You will be working extensively with embedded Linux and embedded C programming, making daily contributions to our codebase. Your coding skills will play a pivotal role in the development and optimization of our products.
- Data Path Optimization: As part of our team, you will be responsible for optimizing data paths, ensuring low latency and high throughput in our telecom infrastructure products.
- Hands-On Coding: We are looking for hands-on coders who will own the entire software development life cycle, from coding and testing to deployment. Your daily tasks will include coding, testing, applying optimizations, and developing new features.
- Expertise in WiFi Standards: We focus on WiFi 5e (11ac), WiFi 6 (11ax), and WiFi (11be). Experience with WiFi 6 (11ax) is highly desired, as it aligns with our current product goals.
- Low-Level Programming: Proficiency in low-level programming, including hardware register programming, is crucial for success in this role. You will work on complex, multi-core, and multi-chipset platforms, shaping the future of wireless technology.
- Experience with Linux Kernel
- A deep understanding of MAC protocols, particularly within the context of WiFi.
- Proficiency in C programming and the ability to develop embedded software for complex, multi-core, and multi-chipset platforms.
- Expertise in WiFi protocols and the WiFi stack, with specialization in the WiFi MAC layer.
- Familiarity with embedded Linux and embedded C.
- Experience in data path optimization for low latency and high throughput.
- Previous work in the telecom infrastructure sector or related industries, such as WiFi routers and access points, is beneficial.
