Industrial Control Technician I

Position Details

  • Role Type: Full-Time
  • Location: Distribution Facility in Romeoville, IL
  • Compensation: $31-34/hour base, plus shift premium
  • Work Schedule: Evening and night shifts, Sunday to Thursday, 5 PM to 1:30 AM or until tasks are complete
  • Availability: Must be flexible for split shifts, weekends, and emergency call-outs

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair automated systems in a high-volume distribution environment.
  • Work with electrical systems, including three-phase and single-phase setups, motors, transformers, and control devices.
  • Interpret and work from schematics, wiring diagrams, and programmable logic instructions.
  • Program and configure industrial equipment, including controllers, HMIs, and diagnostic tools.
  • Test and maintain instrumentation systems such as pneumatic, hydraulic, and refrigeration components.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and manage inventory of spare parts.
  • Collaborate with external vendors for equipment improvements and service contracts.
  • Provide support and guidance to maintenance team members.

Qualifications

  • Education: Relevant technical training or comparable work experience.
  • Experience: At least 1-2 years in a maintenance or systems support role, with a preference for electrical expertise.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
    • Familiarity with industrial software and tools for troubleshooting.
    • Ability to read technical diagrams and configure equipment.
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Other: Effective communication and a detail-oriented approach to tasks.
