Title: Field Applications Engineer
Location: Richardson, TX (Must work on-site)
Duration: Full-Time/Permanent
Pay: $70,000 - $80,000 + Benefits

The Field Applications Engineer will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting and debugging power systems and will include occasional travel to customer locations throughout North America and outside of the U.S. The FAE will follow design verification tests, engineer validation tests, design improvement processes and assist in the Failure Mode Analysis process to investigate and resolve product complaints and apply corrective actions. In this role you are expected to maintain knowledge of new engineering technologies, components and applications. Additional duties will include
  • Evaluate competitor products to determine technological advantages or concepts that can be applied to the organizations products,
  • Initiate and authorize product changes as needed
  • Maintain engineering notebooks to allow activities to be reviewed by internal company personnel
  • Conduct research to solve practical engineering problems in-depth and improve or develop new methods/approaches to product application, problems, and solutions
  • Conduct on- and off-site product training for customers
  • Provide technical support to customers and installers

Qualifications of the Field Applications Engineer:
  • Must have 5+ years’ experience and knowledge of power supply (SMPS)
  • Electrical Engineering Degree
  • Experience with outdoor telecom power systems and installation preferred
  • Must have communication serial interface experience (RS485, Ethernet, RS232, Modbus, CAN)
  • Must have customer interface experience
  • Must be able to effectively understand and communicate technical instructions, business climate conditions, quality reports, and activity reports
  • Must be able to generate various engineering documentation and have knowledge of engineering documentation systems
  • Must have working knowledge of safety agency specifications
  • Must be able to work independently
